Emission factor
The term 'emissivity' refers to the ability of a material to emit radiant energy. In the case of low-e glass, the coating on the surface of the glass has a low emissivity, i.e. it reflects rather than absorbs radiant energy.
Low-e glass can be used in both residential and commercial buildings and can be applied to various types of windows, including double and triple glazed windows. By reducing the amount of heat transfer through windows, low-e glass can help improve energy efficiency and reduce heating and cooling costs.
